What type of transmission oil?

Anyone knows what type of transmission fluid to use in the 1999 expedition eb 5.4l engine w/4x4?

Uses Mercon 8 fluid and Ford did this in 1998

Seems as though it depends on the transmission you have. It is either MerconV or Mercon. This comes from the shop manual.

Transmission fluid
Motorcraft MERCON V ATF 4R70W

Transmission fluid
Motorcraft
MERCON ATF 4R100 (4x2) 4R100 (4x4)
