Think about it this way.

If drilled rotors were better, don't you think racing series would use them?

When it comes to the exotics you are paying more for the caliper and large rotor than the cross drilling.

EDIT: Brembo actually has a warning on their cross drilled rotors that they are not intended for track use. That right there should tell you they are an appearnce thing, and not a performance thing.

Re: Brake Upgrade

thats exactly what e r teling u, lol. seriously tho SOMEtrack cars may use them, but mainly for looks, i think everyones in agreement theat drilled rotorslook badass, but performance wise no..remeber its not just heat disapation...the pad has to grab the rotor...so less surface area=less friction for pad to grab=less braking power.

on a side note....theres alot of things on exotics that r for nothing...

Re: Brake Upgrade

So when looking for new brake rotors what attributes should you look for to know they are quality rotor? Materials? Thickness? Or what? Cause I have been looking around and I mean prices range from $35-180 so far and nobody can give me any info about them except they fit the car and the brand. And don't get me wrong I will spend the money for better stopping power but how do I tell? By the way where do you guys order brakes from? M local pepboys will sell me a set of ceramic EBC redstuff pads for $77 but the matching rotors are like $170 a peice I know you guys like hawks but their ceramic pads will cost me 40 more because I would have to order online and pay shipping and I can't seem to find the rotors you spoke of at all

Re: Brake Upgrade

try ipsmotorsports....google em. not sure on thw website. best thing is to call em. and talk to em....i dunno if ur rides tt or na (im on mobile), but i no they have some for the na's, blanks is what u need definetly, brembos have a greast compond and u can use whatever pads fit ur needs. hawks r great, but expensive.

basically,, get brembo blanks.....hawk pads......thats a good setup. if ur na and want better braing look toward doing a vr4 brake upgrade

Re: Brake Upgrade

Its been stated time and time again the VR4 brake upgrade is unnecessary. I have run the hell out of my car on many twisty mountain roads and not once had an issue because of having NA brakes.

Not only is it unnecessary it slows you down due to rotational mass.
