Talking 99 Bonneville Keyless Remote Programming Instructions

I got this info from this site. It worked for my 1997 and 1999 Bonnevilles. Good Luck.

NOTE: You must have the correct part number on the remote for it to work. I have some spares I'd be willing to sell for a nominal price plus shipping. My family owns a large salvage yard and one day I foraged through all the cars and got a pail full of Keyless Remotes. The part number you need is 15732803.

Transmitter programming per the GM manual:

Important:

Before entering the programming mode, verify the possession of all the transmitters you will be using on the vehicle. Once you program the transmitter, the memory erases the other transmitters. You may program up to 4 transmitters

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch

2) Usa a fused jumper (3 amp is sufficient) and connect terminal 8 (back/white wire) to terminal 4 (black wire)

3) Close all the doors

4) Turn ON the ignition switch
the doors will lock

5) Press and hold the following buttons on one of the transmitters for 30 seconds:
lock and unlock

6) After a 30 second delay, the doors will lock and unlock

Important:
DO NOT turn OFF the ignition . If the switch is turned OFF the first transmitter becomes inoperative.

7) In order to program extra transmitters repeat Step 5

8)Disconnect the fused jumper wire from the data link connector

9) Turn off ignition

10) Verify functions of all programmed transmitters.

That is the correct way to do program the rke receiver.

Here is a pic of the DLC connector you will need to find at the knee bolster.

Re: Programming 99 Bonneville SE Keyless

Neither are correct.

You can use FCC: KOBUT1BT with part # 25678792 for both the 97 Bonneville and 99 Grand Am.

Re: Programming 99 Bonneville SE Keyless

Make sure you are using the correct slots in your DLC (see the diagram a few posts up).

Also, make sure you are not pressing the brake pedal at all during the procedure.

Re: Programming 99 Bonneville SE Keyless

No foot on brake pedal and I did have it in the correct slots. just t make sure i repeated the process in my 96 park ave. and everything went as it should. That's why I am stumped. I got no lock and unlock of the doors at all when i turned the key to the on position.

Re: Programming 99 Bonneville SE Keyless

Try the procedure with all doors closed first, and if that doesn't work, try with the driver's door open.

If no response, you may have a blown fuse or bad receiver module in the vehicle.

Re: Programming 99 Bonneville SE Keyless

I tried it with door both open and shut, nothing. So I'll check the fuse next, and how do I replace the module, is it in the door? It's been a while since I've had to mess with that.

Re: Programming 99 Bonneville SE Keyless

If it is a module that went bad, would I replace the door module or the Body Control Module? I have both out of a 97 park Ave., would that work?

Thanks
