mods

ok ive been to different sites and found that zz per/3800 per/ are getting a bad rap because of there PCMs. i found a site called THRASHER... has anybody heard of it? and they are parners with DHP and they sell everything i need for my car. are they good to go with?? the only thing i dont see is T.B spacers? which i keep hearing that is a must if i plan on modding my car. and please remember im a old school G.P guy im not used to all of PCMs/pulleys/T.B spacers/... i just wanna make sure that when i do mod my car which will be soon i want the right info and not guesses... Ijust want my car to have 300 or so HP so if i need it i have it and it will still be a daily driver.i heard that if i run 110 octane in my car it cleans it out better than any engine cleaner???? not all the time but atleast once a month???? and if someone could give me a good site for T.B spacers for my car..... thanks 99gtp all stock 84000 miles

Re: mods

I have purchased from Thrasher and they are top notch. The DHP PCM modification is as good as it gets and it is not that expensive. I have also purchased from ZZP and found no problems with there stuff either. I do recommend the DHP Pcm for your car. And contrary to popular belief throttle body spacers are not absolutely necessary to produce horsepower. I suggest different ratio rocker arms if you don't want to put a cam in the engine. They will give you considerable bang for your buck.

Re: mods

I second that the t-body spacer is not necessicary, in fact, if you live in a colder area, I would advize aginst one.

My DHP PCM has been good to me!

GTP_Dad, if all-power and myself were to add 1.9 ratio modified rockers to our cars, how low of a pully can we drop to safely would you say? 3.25?

Re: mods

3.25 is about as low as you can go without an intercooler. The different rocker ratio will give you more lift and allow more fuel. I would also go with different injectors to get more fuel into the cylinders too and you will probably need different springs to prevent coil bind. The rockers will give you about 20 additional HP and the smaller pulley will certainly improve boost. But to answer your initial question the answer with other basic mods is yes!

X2, especially if you drive it in the winter. reason being...the T-body spacer blocks the coolant elbows that go to the T-body. good in the summer, however not so good in the winter time

Re: mods

Yea but that only works for special people like Bob! LOL Do you use racing gas or pump gas with the 3.0 without the intercooler?
