Wiper arm removal
I want to take my windshield wiper arms off to repaint them but am having trouble removing them. My Hanes manual says to remove one bolt at the base of the arm and they should slide off but it is not working. I have tried to pry them with pretty good force and nothing. Tapped them with a hammer to try to break them free and nothing.
Am I missing something? |

Re: Wiper arm removal
Use one of those top post battery terminal pullers.

Re: Wiper arm removal
Maybe soak it with some WD-40.

Hi I was planning to do the same thing a little later on, but the Haynes should be right there is only those bolts holding it down. You can spray some wd40 like AzTumbleweed suggested and leave it for 5 mins so it can penetrate then use some elbow grease to get it off. Anther thing if it won’t come off, you can take the wiper blades off and put newspaper under the wiper control arms then paint it while it’s on the car. Are you using spray paint or brush paint?
