Cripes, that's what I get for trying to do math after a big pizza lunch*zzzzzzz*, but then...oh to be able to rebuild a whole engine in 2 hours! (8 hr work day / 4 engines...right?) Teach me obi wan....

Complete engine rebuild with machine shop labor can run 20 plus flat reate hrs. Reminds me of my old Ford truck dealership days. When work go slow they always had some older V8 engine short blocks around that paid 5 hrs to put together. All cleaned up ready to assemble. Made good fill in work.

Back in the heyday (before engines started to last longer because of computerization, fuel injection etc etc.) We did 8-10 a day. Now days we do 2-3 a day. Obviously with fewer employees. I have 5 guys in the shop now and 2 installers.
