Re: It is better in Iraq....regardless....

It's funny, alot of people wanted us to go muscle our military strength after 9/11 but now it seems people think we're abusing the reason why we're over there. We killed enough of them, we should just be able to pull out and let them kill each other off.

Probably not. Since they use the metric system horsepower is rated as PS. Yes, you can use your imagination on this.

Thanks or no thanks to our fine British friends that screwed the region up way before we got there. <--- Said sarcastically.

That is a pretty broad way to look at it. While I agree with the fact that terrorist say the same thing, we must first take a look at a few things.

1) There are some Americans that should be wiped out. (ie. rapist, child predators, murderers, highly corrupt politicians, etc.).

2) The vast majority of Americans aren NOT wiping eachother out with wild warfare, torture, etc.

3) America is not attacking nations that practice any form of equality.

While it your quote sounds very poetic, it does not not take in any big picture. Now I'm just going out on a limb here, but I am guessing the people that say they want us wiped off the face of the Earth are not the people who are unable to speak publicly or those who benefit from it in a country where freedom of speech amongst countless other freedom barracades exist?

Let me form an example for you if that did not work.

A terrorist organization commutes over a network that allows no free speech, nor any speech outside of government rule or regulation on a network that says they want the US to perish. Would you take that in as the norm? I would hope not because I would imagine that the rest of nation (the MAJORITY) would love to speak out how they want their government to be wiped clean, but don't have the chance to. So what I am saying is that he actually has the freedom to post what he just did about, "wiping the bastards out," where a lot of the world (who are not terrorist in the least) don't even have an opportunity to say so. So therefore, aren't you just comparing anything that matches what we say to what is said on a completely censored network?

If you mean Islamist nations, yeah, I'd agree with that. That's a sizable portion of the world's population.

Some would define our actions in Iraq as terrorism, but I think some of us here have already said we thought we should have just let them continue under Sad-man.

As always, YMMV.

There is probably no need for sarcasm here.
It is a well known tactic for Britain to create feuds between the peoples of a country as part of their tactics during the Empire years. Even if it was not 100 5 the case with the countries being discussed here, it certainly was with many others.

Re: It is better in Iraq....regardless....

You know it really doesn't make any difference. We can talk about it all day long until we turn blue in the face.

The bottom line is we are there to stay. Although we will have troops pull out of Iraq over the next few years at least 50,000 will be left there to help the Iraqis. El Presidente Obama has made that clear.

As for Afghanistan the troop levels will be increased significantly to fight the war on terror that many nations agreed to. It is a joint NATO effort. However, I do wish our so called allies would send more troops versus the U.S. It is a shame we have to spill more of our blood.

Letting the Taliban succeed would be a big mistake and a threat to the security of all countries in the region not just westernized countries that give a rats ass about it. Of course unless you like the idea of subjugating women, having multiple wives and going back in time. I don't think camels or horses are too comfortable to ride. Most Americans' rear ends are too big to fit on them anyways.

BTW - I forgot to add no alcohol to the above!!!!!

Here is some news on the shoe bomber. Sentenced to 3 years in prison for assault. As far as I am concerned justice has been served and he deserved it.

Re: It is better in Iraq....regardless....

Not only that but his actions disrespected the troops we have over there especially the ones that have died (giving the ultimate sacrifice) for their liberties and the families in the U.S. Under Saddam or under typical Islamic Shariah law he would have had a hand cut off or even beheaded. That type of punishment goes on every day in the Middle East under their so called system of justice but they tend to forget about it.
