Tamiya C9 kit was conceived as a fully detailed static model with a removable engine cover and engine details. The 962 kit, on the other hand, was converted from an easy-to-build R/C kit. That's why the body is made as one piece with molded-in clear parts and a shallow recess on the doors. In short, the C9 kit is nothing like the 962 kit. Actually, the 962 (and a few more "converted" static models) is an exception.

Great! The only tamiya kits i had done before getting the 962 were 1:20 F1 kits so i was obviously a little dissapointed when i got the porsche.

Klutz,I know a "Nigel" here in Ireland that used to work in my shop.is that who you mean? probably not but i just made the connection because he has a few Polish friends
