Cool Time for some domestic muscle, Viper RT/10

Hello everyone,
As you can tell this is my first post, I've been lurking for a few days. Except for the usual kid stuff I've never built a model and all of a sudden I felt like getting back into the hobby, tomorrow I'll post some pictures of my first model; a Revell 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10. It came out pretty nice but I did have quite a time getting the chassis and body together and the hood hinge doesn't work at all. But I'm still rather pleased with it. I used Testors #1639 Sapphire Blue Metal Flake for the body with four coats and boy does it look stunning. (Good 'ol Rustoleum for everything else; black, grey and silver.) So of course now I ask myself, "Self, what should I build next?" I'd like to do something a little easier, something without much underbody detail since I find it a pain sometimes. "Curbside" means no engine right? I'd like to do a roadster style car, like the Z3 or the old old Mustangs/Corvettes. Any ideas? Fire away! And as I said, pictures coming soon.

Adam

P.S.
It seems everyone is so nice and helpful here! What a forum..

P.P.S.
I also have an incomplete Acura Integra Type R from Revell that has a nasty brushed on body paintjob that I'm going to redo.

Curbside means either or but not both some times at some contests i see cars with both entered in the curbside class with the hood shut.

Slammers have neither

Hello

If you fancy doing a roadster as your next kit, what about one of the riced-up versions of the latest MR2. I think Fujimi make a Veilside kit at the moment? If not, what about Tamiya's Honda S2000, that's an easy kit to do (I'm working on one at the moment).

Any pics of the Viper?

Thanks for the help and kind words. Pictures will be coming soon, and it looks like the Honda S2000 is next! I do have a Revell BMW Mini coming in the mail from eBay also. Any color ideas for either? I haven't searched for any local hobby shops so I don't have an idea of what Tamiya's colors are like. The silver body with red leather certainly looks the best though. Will probably just order the kit alone online and buy some Testors again.

Talking

Yes, yes it's tomorrow now. I dunno why you are all fussing I almost feel embarrassed posting this compared to some of the other models on here. But here goes.

Pictures aren't the best, I definitely need a new camera.

Adam

As you can see I got the hood hinge to work.

If yopu get the version in my sig, rather than the one with the dark-grey car on the box, you get an alternate set of multi-spoke wheels as well.

If he lives in the U.S., he most likely won't have a choice. A Tamiya customer service guy told me Honda threw a fit when the first kit (24211, silver car on box) was released in North America because it didn't have the LHD dash available to build the U.S.-spec car. That's at least part of the reason why the second kit (24245, white hardtop on box) got pushed out so quickly, along with a few other new parts to fill out the new tree. Of course, now it can be tricky if you want to use the soft-top...

I was just behind an RT/10, I have decided that they are wide. Turns out that the guy lives right by me.
