Revell Viper RT/10
Took me about a week. One problem I encountered was there's a big gap between the hood and front bumper.Tell me what you think.

Yeah I painted the engine red. This was a really crappy kit and I didn't bother adding to much detail.Good thing you removed it from your cart.

Good looking Viper despite the hood and the lack of engine detail. Those are Revells problems, and there is probably no easy way to get around them.

I'm currently building the Revell Viper GTS which is probably the same mold except the main body part (I even have the side exhaust pipes though the GTS has a rear exit exhaust).
I have put the body parts together with the subframe and the engine in (incl. head) just to see how it turns out (haven't painted the body yet) and it's a real tight fit. seeing your engine pic, the whole engine/drivetrain incl. the subframe it all sits on needs to be moved a bit back. When the back of the red inlet manifold is right in contact with the firewall the black airbox is a bit further back too and thus allows the hood to close in a proper way. I have to say the quality is very poor on my Revell kit, there were lots of minor modifications necessary. also on my kit it says the engine bay has to be painted black, reference pics of Vipers I found on the net prove this. other than that, it looks nice in yellow. I'll probably build a RT/10 too in the future. hope this helps Christian |

Looks fine to me, this was my first real kit (but the GTS) & I dont remember having any problems at all. You should add more detail, at least to the engine. It would look alot better.

My Revell Viper didn't suffer the same problem.
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~xr2h-fkd...lery/viper.htm It was one of those detailed snapper series, and I was impressed with the quality. Also, the advantage of snapper is that it doesn't require messy tapes to test fit. Perhaps, more careful test fit could have avoided the hood gap. |

This kit was the worst I've ever built (even if I've only built about 5
). Did your engine not fit into the compartment right? i had to trim about 1/4 of an inch off the sides of the compartment. And, about the space. Are you planning on displaying an engine? Try removing the intake. It's what's holding it up.

I didn't have any problems with my GTSs engine fitment or bonnet. It all went together very well, out of those 5 you've made Bimmerkid are there any GTSs? Maybe its just the RT/10 kit, I loved the Viper GTS kit I made so I'm going to buy about 7 more soon.

No, it's just the RT/10. Other than that I've got a Z3, BMW Mini Cooper, RT/10 and the 'Vette I just finished. Maybe it's 4 and not 5.
