Re: I'm Gettin' Married...

Thanks very much, everyone.

Just a side note - Be happy the majority of you are men. This wedding planning shit is just that, shit! I'm eloping and spending the rest of the budget on cocaine and strippers.

Congrats! Though I could never see myself getting married at age 20, other people do make it work.

Re: I'm Gettin' Married...

Congrats. I would say save the money and scratch the cocaine and stripers though. You might need it later. Gas prices are going back up, that extra money is going to be nice to have if you hold onto it. Plus, who wants to deal with the fuzz if the cocaine gets found? I wouldn't want to. Best of luck to you both.

Re: I'm Gettin' Married...

Good luck! I got married right after I graduated high school at age 18. I went to college during the day and worked all night while my wife worked days. After I graduated she no longer wanted to go to school so i went to work wrenching while she worked at a bank.......ten years later we have one boy who is two, a girl on the way, I own my own shop and she stays at home and takes care of our adorable children. It can work!!!!! I still work a lot of hours (about 100-120 hrs a week) just to keep the shop up and going. (yet I find time to sit here and help people on AF). We have had a lot of ups and some really low downs, but always found our way back to each other. Marriage isn't just a commitment to him; it’s a commitment to you, to put that other person in front of your needs almost every time. That’s why my wife stays home and I work. It was more important to us that our children weren't raised by someone at a day-care that we didn't know, than it was to have a nice car and big house. Now they don't see me as much as they would like, but that’s the sacrifice that I make. Someday I hope that all of or children will be better people because of it. This life I live is for them.....the ones at home. I hope that your future husband feels the same way about taking care of you as I do about my family. Just remember that as the wife you play a very important role.....the wife sets the attitude for the relationship.....I don't know why but that’s just the way that it is. Love your husband, but more importantly respect the man for who he is, who he wants to be and who he will become. Your respect for him will set the tone and he will love you with all his heart, which is your ultimate desire anyway. Sorry to rant on!

GOOD LUCK AND GODBLESS

Re: I'm Gettin' Married...

Congrats, I'm too busy chasing money to even be contemplating a normal relationship

Best of luck!
