Dude... Really... How much time you spend at your modeling area.....
Abso-freekin-lutely amazing..
I wish I could lay down CF with your speed and perfection....
Your build has made me order a SMS set... now if I ever have the brass to use it is completely another question!

..ain't that the truth!

This build is intimidating enough as it is, and to pull it off with perfection and with consistent progress is amazing.

It keeps getting better!

I'm sorry for that. Though i have pix that show silver, black and red wheel nuts. I don't have any (even of the test car) that show sided center locks.

Re: Jean Todt's Ferrari FXX. Using SMS superset

Dave,

I take my hat off and bow down in disbelief, that is f****ing amazing what you've done so far.

I just received my FXX today from Hong Kong and also found the SMS kit for this model, although rather expensive for the Czech Republic since it'll come from the U.S. What I can't understand though is how you managed the photo etching, I've ordered a photo etching kit from crazy modeler, but I have to admit, that I've never used photo etched parts before and am a little scared doing so. I've done some studying on the net, but do you have some special tips and tricks, like glueing the tiny parts, meaning around the windows or on the underpanel, bending and shaping the photo etched parts, etc etc.

If you want to, please mail me at: [email protected]
Thanks a lot, Martin

Re: Jean Todt's Ferrari FXX. Using SMS superset

Stunning work. You have inspired me to start building again. I dug my FXX out of storage today and worked 8+ hours on it!

Now all I need to do is find a CF template sheet & get my hands on more SMS CF decal sheet.

Again, STUNNING work.

TIM

Like the pic that Dave posted it shows red on all corners.
All the race cars use red wheel nuts on one side and blue on the other side!
It is because the thread is different for left side nuts from those on the right side, for the obvious reason.

And the FXX being a track (race) car his reasoning was very sound, no need to attack him.

Back to the build, awesome looking engine, especially the heat stains on the exhaust!

Stunning detail, great brakes & awesome detailing.
Q, are the Brake & hubs flimsly due to the threaded rod in the middle or is it build into a soild unit?
Great work cant wait to see this Carbon beast come together

Re: Jean Todt's Ferrari FXX. Using SMS superset

Thanks guys.... in the midst of the 312PB build I did make some progress on the FXX...

The engine is in place in the monocoque. The intake is sitting there for a test fit. Still have lots to do to tidy this area up

I dropped the interior in place for another test fit.....

Front area is complete. I did not go crazy, basically a little CF, Kit instruction painting is all that is needed. The bonnett will not be shown once the car is complete but I still wanted it to be clean.

Its coming along!! Stay tuned for more updates.....

After all these years, I'm still staggered at the speed at which you build models. Superb.
