ok, that's right where we thought is was. It's too late to try it tonight, we'll do it tomorrow. When the CEL come on, it idles hard, and while driving it's ruff, and the RPMs go all over the place, like tonight, it was at 3000 light came on, then went to 2500 then 3500 then 3000 then 4000 finally calmed at 2500 or so, this was while driving around 65 with the foot on the gas, normally. And in a matter of seconds.

Okay, we unpluged it, it starts, then in ten second or less it dies...

You can edit, you just have to right click and open in a new tab or window. Something wrong with the forum.

How does it idle up to that point? Try keeping it revved so it doesn't die.

Re: I'm getting sick of this car.. (Misfiring?)

Seems to be firefox... O.o (On IE now, and it's seems to be working fine..)

Well, it was dead so soon, I couldn't tell you if it was still doing it or not..

I will try it again and rev the engine, and see if we can keep it alive.. hehe

Re: I'm getting sick of this car.. (Misfiring?)

Ok, we unplugged it, gave it a little gas, it stayed running, it was running really rich, and misfiring REALLY badly, so, I guess this means that is the MAF? Right? O.o

Re: I'm getting sick of this car.. (Misfiring?)

So, was it acting similar to when it's plugged in?

Re: I'm getting sick of this car.. (Misfiring?)

if it ran noticably worse with it unplugged, than that usually means the MAF is good...but you said when your mechanic tapped on it the idle got choppy...so possible there's an intermittent connection somewhere.

If i were in your position, i would try to find another MAS to swap in just to check. any 3si people near you?

Re: I'm getting sick of this car.. (Misfiring?)

Ok, Yeah, I talked to my hubby after he got home, he said when it was unplugged, it was surging really bad, not really misfiring like it's been doing, but it was ALOT worse without it.

That's what I was thinking, getting someone's from around here and trying it to be sure that's it before spending the money on a new one, but the problem is, I don't know anyone around with one. (I'm 30 miles out of Denver)

It's even hard to find used parts for the GT... O.o

So now I don't know what to do... I'm almost thinking it's something else now, is there anywhere I can get a list of common things that cause a misfire on the 3000gts?

A friend of my hubbys said it sounds like what his car did when the fuel pump went out...

Re: I'm getting sick of this car.. (Misfiring?)

Ok, we changed the fuel filter, it was about three times and heavy as it was supposed to be, the car worked great for a short time, and then began to misfire again.

What models have the same MAF as the 1st gen? Any?

(I really don't think it's the MAF anymore, but I want to rule one thing out.

The MAF is identical for all 3s's and even 2g Turbo DSM's
