If you are talking about the 98 and up V6's ok...but still more expensive than a 1992 hatch with an engine swap. Apples and Oranges I know...but how much faster is the Apple?

If you are referring to the 98 and below V6 Mustangs, I used to beat them all the time in my bone-stock 1996 Toyota Corolla with the 1.8 liter engine...and my Corolla was still cheaper brand new with the same year V6 'Stang. I even beat modified ones...but then again, the only modifications I notice on the V6 'Stangs here are of the "ricer" variety...gaudy wings, altezzas, heavy-ass chrome rims, mufflers that are loud but useless, etc., etc....

Bottomline, I look at V6' Stang owners, all I think is "loser".

Also, understand the attitude against these pukes...just because they drive something with the name "Mustang", they act like they are driving a freakin' Saleen S281 or something. If I had a penny for everytime a V6 'Stang driver decided to give me chase and try(emphasis on "try") to race me on the freeway just because I passed(I was in a hurry...didn't even know or care they were on the road...they took my passing them as a challenge...since they were the only ones allowed to pass people on the road ), I'd be driving a Ferrari instead. I understand that there are import ricers do the same thing...but doesn't that put them in the same category?

Yea, I've gotten that notion too. Most of them seem real proud that they've got a mustang. I can respect a V-8 driver because they know how it goes but somebody that buys a mustang "BECAUSE ITS A MUSTANG!!" is just not something i condone or really like. They'd rather have it for the title and the title of mustang lost alot of ground way back with the ceased production of the shelby.

I raced a 99 Mustang GT in my 2K civic EX and beat him off the line. I got a good lead on him and when he almost caught up he grinded the gears and that lost him the race but HEY! just details right? :sun:
But my civics not very stock so that was a bit of an influencing factor.

My previous car was a 1995 v6 mustang. No exterior mods, just a couple performance mods, duel exhaust, powerchip, pullies and cold air induction. It was pretty fast, just ask the various riced out cars I walked. But, I new it was a v6, did not flaunt it as anything else. Where you guys get off saying that v6 owners think their cars are all that is beyond me. Could it be that you get beat by them? Scared of them? Its a car that looks cool and actually has some performance potential with its original parts, dont have to swap in some abc123 motor. Strange concept eh? Ford made the part right the first time.

no it is not that i am scared of them. I walk on the new V6s as well as the old ones. Hell, Ive walked on stock pre 96 5.0 GTs pretty handily as well. Keep in mind that any little mod you do will open that motor way up and hand me my ass, but thats beside the point.

Im not even going to go as far as to say all or even most, but a good deal of mustang owners look at imports,(even those that will beat them) and sneer. This is all case specific though. Ive also met many many mustang owners that are cool as hell

Its just about performance to these select few, and not a damn badge, which is cool as hell IMO

also, that was funny about making the part right the first time. If that was true, why are the 94-95 style mustangs so goddam slow from the factory, V6s and V8s alike?

Btw, if that car in your avatar is your ride, mad props it is very:coolguy:

Generalization means that most people are like that. There are always exceptions. Apparently you're one of them. Don't get all defensive. Just because some people don't like V6 stangs doesn't mean it's retalitory because a stang beat 'em or stangs are better. It means they don't like V6 stangs. Everybody has their preference.

Actually, the 96-98 mustangs are slightly slower. Yes, there is no reason why ford could not make mustangs a bit faster. They should have, since they had the tech and parts to do so.

Thats is my car in the sig. Picture is a bit fuzzy.
