I remember seeing back in an early 2002 issue of NZ Prestige and Classic there was a '69 Mercury Cougar with a 427 with 700+ bhp. It was the first V8 I truly lusted after

I love the Cougar. I would not call it dull at all. In fact, when I was looking to buy my ZX2, I looked at many Cougars too.

I'm not a fan of the re-born cougar, they just don't appeal to me. I really like the older ones, but I'm also partial to the ones from the 80's too. Maybe that's cause I use to own an 87 Cougar, which I thought was a pretty nice car when I was 17. Here's a pic of an older cougar I took from a car show last year, not sure of the year though.

did somebody say cougars?

im really only a fan of the latest gen cougars (cdw-27 platform). Only ones that really appealed to my liking. Lots of potential as far as the engine goes. Two turbo kits available and a supercharger kit. And as you can see, the aesthetic department doesnt lack either.

Cougars

The late sixties were the coolest. Drove one when I was in high school. 1968 was the only year for the sequential tail lights and required a black box for them to work.

I'm a Ford fan, so I'm partial to all Cougars. Every Pic posted so far look good. Looks like some $$$ was spent on these mods, sure makes the New-Gen Cougars even more appealing then they already are. Nice work!

Welcome to AF.

As an owner of a '68 T-Bird (which has the same controller) they must be maintained correctly in order to work reliably, including the occasional cleaning and lube.

That being said, please note this thread is almost 5 years old. Please do not resurrect old threads as other AF members find this a bit annoying.

However, you are more than welcome to start a new thread on this subject.

I am closing this thread due to extreme old age.
