Help My Brake Lights Won't Go Out!

I have a 2003 Passat and discovered this afternoon that my brake lights won't go out. I'm going to take it to the dealer in the morning but would like to disable the lights tonight for obvious reasons. I can't figure out which fuse works or how else to do it. Any advice?
Thanks

Brake lights stuck on

I too havea 2003 Passat and my brake lights are stuck on in my parking garage at work. What ended up being the problem? Did you find out how to "override" the switch? I'm waiting for a call back from the VW dealer, but these guys can take hours.

Had the same problem tonight, also a 2003 Passat. After messing around with it for an hour, I finally reached *way* up to the top of the brake pedal (out of sight, behind the panel) and found what felt like a connector to the brake light switch. Pressing on the connector made the brake lights go out. I can sleep now. Off to the dealer tomorrow...

Good to know. I'll go exploring under the brake pedal for that connector to be prepared for next time.
