power window

1999 ford wind star passenger side window went down, will not go back up. pulled switch out of drivers side door, center lead on switch for drivers side has power, using jumper can make drivers side raise and lower, center lead for passenger side has no power? pulled power from other side still could not get passenger side to raise. pulled switch from passenger door, has power to center lead, again using jumper, still could not get window to raise? Could it be motor? Youn can hear a clicking when you push the working window switch but don't hear any clicking when you push the non working window. I also found the fuses for the two front windows and took the fuse for the working window and put in the place of the fuse for the non working window and that fuse I put in the working window and that didn't change any thing so the fuses are good. Thanks for any help you can gave me.

Re: power window

After burning up a bunch of defenseless brain cells looking at several FSM electrical diagrams of the power window wiring.....I've decided since you are getting power to each window at the center pin, you should take your volt meter to the two output pins/wires at the switch or motor to measure for 12v. The 12volts should switch wires as does the ground wire, allowing the motor to go up and down by reversing polarity. Sounds like if you have power, the line that supplies ground isn't good or the problem is back at the driver's master switches. Both the power and the ground all originate from the master switch. You may just need to give all of the master switches a good cleaning with brake or electric cleaner and maybe light sanding, then some dielectric dilicone or like to keep the contacts clean. It wouldn't hurt to clean the other door switches too. I hope that will do it. Good luck.

Re: power window

look here http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=906398

I would suggest tapping the window motor with a hammer and see if the motor than works, it could be that one of the white nylon gears in the window motor has some shavings that are jamming the gear, and yes it can be takeb apart and cleaned, and you should get another couple of years out of it.
