Cars had the option of limited slip. Trucks had the option of the G-80 locker, with the exception of the quadasteer which had the option of a G-86 limited slip. This was in a Dana axel and I don't believe it will fit other carriers.

And according to General Moters there is no addative required for the G-80 rears.

On my 2005 Silverado Z-71 G-80 stands for a LOCKING differential, NOT limited slip. Your truck, if equipped with G-80 has the LOCKING differential, not a limited slip. Some limited slip or posi-traction differentials have fiber clutches and those are the ones that require the additive. The LOCKING differential we are speaking about DOES NOT use the additive.
