Anyone ever hear of a Colt Vista 4WD?

My mom had one for 13 yrs before she sold it. It was an excellent SUV. Perhaps one of the first. 1988 4WD car of the year. I wish we hadn't sold it, but the engine was needing to be replaced and various things on it didn't work anymore.

I've only seen one other Colt Vista around, I'm curious who else has seen one?

I had one with 300k kms, but had to sell it cause i bought an 89 colt/mirage gt turbo, i had no room for a fifth car.

That things a funny to drive, i miss it so, and i will buy another one by next winter.

Colt turbo

Your better off getting a drivetrain out of a AWD eclipse/laser/talon it will be a very involved process, there is a guy in the Orlando florida area swapping this drivetrain into an 89 colt/mirage Gt talk about badass and he only has to meet 2 speed idle emissions. sorry, i don't know his website though

The Colt is always a good car. I've got a 1988 Colt Vista Wagon, but it's a FWD. The car has 194,324 miles and is still going.

We have a 1987 Colt Vista 4WD. The body on it is still so good that right now we're searching for a replacement engine. This was my dad's car for years, and later I inherited it. We've had it for 3 years now, and like it so much we don't want to get rid of it.

I used to have an 87 Colt Vista, and I really liked it. A few years ago, I bought an 88, 4wd, standard. It's doing the same thing the old one did - seals in the engine are going, losing power (I think! Maybe it's just that I got used to 6 cylinders in the meantime!) What's your thought to rebuilding the engine, and what else is likely to go wrong that will cost big money so I can weigh out whether to keep the car on the road. Is it hard to get replacement parts? I need the 4wd. It's been sitting about a year now.

Re: Anyone ever hear of a Colt Vista 4WD?

I currently own a 1991 Maroon red Colt Vista (FWD). It was given to me by my grandparents. They got it at an auction for $800. Iv had it for 3 years, its only still got 86,465 miles on it, and still running strong. IM actually looking to beef up the motor alittle bit, but im not even sure where to begin. Iv owned 4 cars and this one is by far the best.

Just sayin.
