Im happy with my B&M shift plus. It helped increase my 1/4 mile times by .7 to .8 with it on stage 2 and I love the new feel of the shift points.

LMAO no it didnt. stop lieing to people. The shiftplus actually doesnt increase 1/4 mile time at all, and if it does, its no more the .1-.2 tenths of a second. All it does is make the shifts harder. They seem like they are faster because it engages fully faster, but its not that big of an improvement as far as speed wise as the stock setting. The shiftplus and autotrans are more suited for cars making alot of HP. They have a problem with slipping transmissions and this will fix it. I GUARANTEE you will lose at most .2 tenths of a second with the shiftplus on a car making less than 30-40 HP over stock. |

Yeah yeah yeah bit me
little mathmatical snafu on my part. Grabbed my time slips for the entire night at firebird testing the SP and factoring in the differences in RT's from run to run using it in each stage as well as being turned off Im still looking at a improvment of .2 on my 1/4 times. Granted thats a ways off from my original fuck up of .7 to .8 but its still a backed improvment. Either that or by some act of god the car just decided to run faster each time with the SP set on stage 2 but I doubt he likes me that much if at all.

Re: Anyone ever hear of these?
uhh just to let you know, RT has no effect on your 1/4 mile ET. The timer doesnt start untill your wheels move. You can sit at the light for 30 seconds, then do your run and you will have the same ET.

AHHA! Found it. I knew I remembered seeing that someone over on the azjbo had about the same results as myself. Here is a quote from Eric (JDMSedan) from paceseetter over on the azjbo site. Some guy thought he would run low 15's with just CAI, header, cat-back and shift plus and here is what eric posted.

Re: Anyone ever hear of these?
none, for a boosted car it will actually prolong the life of the transmission.

Re: Anyone ever hear of these?
If it makes it shift harder how could that prolong the life of the transmission?

Re: Anyone ever hear of these?
boosted cars or any car running alot more HP than stock creates alot of power on a transmission that isnt designed for that much power. So the transmission slips alot. And i mean alot. Well this slipping hurts and can burn up the trans alot sooner than expected. The shiftplus stops the transmission from slipping as much. The harder shifts arent even bad for the transmission. The gears just engage sooner instead of slipping and grinding away.
