Re: Any Torino owners?

Thanks for the numbers. Sounds good with the pistons, I'm going to run a higher lift cam, replace all bearings and port and polish heads. This is a random thought, but might I have to run 92 octane with all this? I'm not going to be upping compression by much, so I'm not so sure.

Re: Any Torino owners?

Depending on your final compression and what gears you end up with. You can get away with cheaper gas even with higher compression if you do not put your engine under a big load.

Is it a Windsor or a Cleveland? If it has the Cleveland in pretty sound shape, it's probably worth the 2200. i'd offer maybe 1800 or so, and see what happens. couldn't hoit

69 Fairlane

I have a 69 Fairlane project I am working on. I have a six cylinder I'm gonna try to swap out. I'm gonna make a web site that tracks the progress, and to get suggestions from other people. This is a site dedicated to restoring a car on less than a shoestring budget, not like most of the normal sites where the guy doing it is not only an automotive professional, but is also loaded. I'm neither. Once I get it up, I'll put a link on here so everyone can check it out.

Re: Any Torino owners?

Me and my dad are fixing up a 1970 351c Torino Convertible. Can this car compete with any of the new import cars for racing like a : 1997 eclipse, 3000gt, infinity g35?

Re: Any Torino owners?

If the car is stock and the Eclipse and 3000GT are the turbo versions, maybe not.

But why would anyone want to race a convertible? To paraphrase Snoopy, convertibles were made to cruise in the sun.

Re: Any Torino owners?

Obsolete Ford Parts out of Oklahoma City had a lot of parts I needed plus I looked in Hemmings Motor news and found parts. I had a 1970 Yellow Torino G.T. that I sold about 9 years ago to buy my Harley. I posted a thread looking for it again! I miss that car! I sold it to a guy named Shaun in Green Lake Wisconsin.

I know old Torinos are timeless, but, wow, take a look at the date on the last post. This thread is more than 3 years old.
