WIP-Do you know what this is?

I started this years ago and forgot about it after I primed it. I picked up on it while I was building my Soarer recently. It's an odd ball kit. Before I post up the actual progress pics (which isn't much since it's nearly box stock) I wondered if anyone would be able to guess what kind of car it is by looking at a couple of teaser shots first.

Anybody have a guess?

Re: WIP-Do you know what this is?

I believe its a derivitive of a pontiac trans am, but I can't remember the name of the car. A guy has a shop by my house and is restoring one he said they were pretty rare. I'll try to get the name and post it up.

Re: WIP-Do you know what this is?

Same base body but this one has a complete chasis with motor and carb & header stuff. It came with that wing, but it's not suppose to be used. Here's a full body shot:

Re: WIP-Do you know what this is?

I was hoping that it would be re-released again as some of their older models have been but I haven't seen this specific one with this front end on it. Here's the original box I scanned:

The only thing different from my model and the one depicted on the box is I made my own rear lip and I custom made the projector light housings. Other than that, all I can remember is getting it in the mail and immediately fitting the front bumper and discovering the crappy fitment. I chopped and shaved what I needed to and molded and shaped the rest to make it reflect the box art. I added the sideskirts, fabbed the rear, glued on the wing, primed it, and forgot about it. When I found it again, I painted it and then I finally looked at the instructions hoping to get started on the motor and interior. That's when I realized I didn't add the vents to the front fenders as seen on the box art.

Re: WIP-Do you know what this is?

I think what I'd like to see is if anyone has a picture of the real car with that same body kit that was supplied with the model car.

Re: WIP-Do you know what this is?

Well, I found only a few pics from when I first started building it and unfortunately it doesn't show how the front end went on. It just starts out with it being primered. The rest of the pics are after I painted it and made the headlights.
