Re: oh crap
i've really slacked off during the winter season but i'm proud to say i haven't gained weight (well, i hadn't after christmas night but i've spent the last 2 days in montreal eating lots of good food). i'm starting back on the cardio within the next few days and i'm going to get some skates and start skating on the canal that runs right beside my campus. look up ottawa canal or rideau canal and you'll see one of the best places to skate in the world (it just gained status as some sort of international sight to visit, the same status as places like the louvre). i figure if i do 1-2hrs on ice as well as either an hour of erging (rowing) or and hour or two of weights i should progress very well. i'll just have to get back into my diet, which will be very easy once school starts back up (the 7th).

Re: oh crap
The holidays are extremely hard for a person to stay constant with a program. The chaotic daily routine is almost always disrupted. I know with taking time off from work, that throws my workout program out of whack.
Remember, you need time for recovery, especially if doing weight training. Lower intensity, higher cardio such as rowing, or skating obviously require less of a recovery time. Doing anything, is better than nothing at all. My hardest part of any training is the food intake. I do not unnecessarily eat unhealthy, it is my lack of eating. I had counting calories, and watching intake. I can work through the day an relatively nothing, which I know is almost as bad as eating junk food. Good luck with your goal. |
