Cylinder Head Porting
Hey Guys,
This is my first time in the forum. I'm trying to find a company in Soythern California that CNC ports heads in high volume. I've searched high and low, but I guess I'm not that good with the internet. Can anyone recomend one? Thanks a lot.

I could recommend a specific cylinder head porting company if I knew one thing...
1. I know what your talking about, but many people here do not... porting can mean port polishing, or increasing displacement... I believe your talking about polishing considering increasing displacement will kill your gas milage and turn your VW into a 1/4 miler only. I am going to assume that you are speaking of a VW engine because you have posted this question on my VW Forum... http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.htm visit this website and decide if this process is truely worth all the money youll spend. This site will also tell you how to do it yourself, assuming your good at this kind of stuff and you have an incredibly clean garage.

Porting doesn't mean polishing. Why do you think it's called Port & Polish?
On some engines, polishing the head would really hurt the engine.

I'm just looking to increase flow
I'm interested in opening a performance VW aftermarket parts shop. And simply want to increase air flow in a few different types of VW heads. It is also important that the ports look clean. I have my own port designs and am looking for a company who will make exact copies by using a CNC machine. I though that since you guys obviously know the business you might have heard of a reputable company that provides a CNC porting service.

Looks like Direct Motion and CNC Heads are both doing exactly what I'm looking for.
You say that So Cal industry isn't your field, but I went to Direct Motion's international page and I think they do work for people out of the US too. Has anyone here ever done business with either one of them?

Deakins,
Porting means to file down the cast spikes, and air flow inhibitors by way of a 28000 rpm drill... I know what porting is... I figured he probably was speaking of port polishing... and yes, diesel engines can not be port polished... If you dont begin to rephrase your replies to my responses or posts... it will become an issue. B
