Re: When scratch building What's best used to make wheel wells ?

I see where you're coming from, rockinanko, but to be clear:

On this forum we strive to be inclusive for everyone. There are a lot of folks here who are non-native english speakers (obviously), and it's helpful to them especially, and everyone, if people on the board try to type correctly. We're not here to be anal about spelling or grammar, but it's nice if it's at least attempted. Two people here put together posts in response to the original author's question, which took considerable effort. It's a little frustrating, therefore, when the original poster cops an attitude when asked to put forth a small amount effort in his posting.

Re: When scratch building What's best used to make wheel wells ?

There are also scientific studies proving that if you sit an infinite number of monkeys in front of an infinite number of typewriters and and give them an infinite amount of time, statistically speaking, it is a certainty that one of them will actually type out the complete works of William Shakespeare...

There is hope for your posting style, after all......

I see your point, but on this particular matter, I'm with rockinanko. If you re-read the very first reply, I think you know what I mean. (If only your excellent how-to was the first...)

Anyway, this is the firewall of the R34 I'm working on.

It's entirely constructed from layers of styrene (about 6 layers) cut out from several different thicknesses. I use Tamiya and Evergreen often, and I have pretty much every thickness from approx. 1.0 mm to 0.2mm. Those raw materials are commonly available at train model stores.

>xlr8r_boy
(LOL), I like your attitude, and I read about the research, too. Good luck with your Prelude model.

am a moderator. There are two admins, igor@af, and twospirits.

You were in the wrong, these are our rules. When you signed up, you agreed to them. Post by them, or be banned. Simple as that.

Personally, I dont like you're threat to sign up with multiple usernames and IP addresses. That is against multiple policies, ISP's, and our rules here at AutomotiveForums. We will ban each name reregistered.

I dont care that you've posted this on three other international forums. This is AutomotiveForums, are they the moderators of the sections you post in here? No. Therefore their opinions do not count in this matter.

Sure, go ahead and think we're on a powertrip. I am doing my duty, and so is Ray. Your first impression with us when you signed up was a bad one as we warned you about your spelling and grammar and you through a fit. We warned you again, and you through a fit. I know Ray has contacted you via PM and warned you. You dont need to berate him in retailiation. ESPECIALLY on the public forum.

Consider this the final warning before you are suspended from posting.

Keep trying Mr. Monkey ...

You might want to check out the difference between semantics, grammar and spelling.

Who's the "phuckwad" now, Champ? Chump? Chimp?

Dont't care my friend.

Mods understood yet that most of us may not agree with them in any issues but we full support them in basic issues like this one , when one without know anybody piss around.

(I know perfectly that Ray, Mike and Co are fully able to defend their rights without any help, but I just hate a thing like to rend public a PM: this is sure not fair to my eyes)

Re: When scratch building What's best used to make wheel wells ?

This topic is done.

xlr8r_boy took something sent to him by a moderator in a PM and posted it in the public forum.
He is no longer a member here, his ISP has been notified of his actions and I am sure they will deal with him accordingly.

For the reference of the members, this thread was not the only time this member was asked to adhere to the most simple guidelines and there was a great deal of exchange by PM between both member and moderators before the consensus was reached by the moderators that the action taken would be the best.

Re: When scratch building What's best used to make wheel wells ?

It's beside the point now but I can't think of a simpler answer to the original question than:
"sheet styrene".

Also, if what he was after was a how to, why not ask for the how to?
You can in a single post describe everything you want from what to buy to where to buy and for basic or even not so basic ways of doing things.
Posting sensibly keeps post counts down which in turn keeps the servers happy which makes AF work better.

by the way, not sure I like the sound of this
