Honda S800 (Fujimi)

i bought this for PhP250 or ~$6. kit is great overall.

more here: http://archerwinsmodels.blogspot.com

progress:
i had to cut the hood in order to display the engine. Also, while deepening the door lining, i also had the idea of opening the pasenger door.

HELP: i can't find a good reference pic for the door hinge, anyone who has a good pic? kindly share...
I'm looking for the Acu-Stion Honda S800 Mechanical Parts. accdg to Hiroboy's store it's out of stock. Anyone willing to sell them?

thanks!

BTW, i also opened up the front which I will replace w/ a mesh <pic>

Wow, a chronic lurker comes forth!

Welcome to AF (belatedly)! I didn't know Fujimi did a Honda S800 (but their Toyota S800 is pretty great ). Cool car, looking forward to seeing more.

Re: Honda S800 (Fujimi)

I like aircraft, but I find it easier to build clean shiny cars! haha

Nice Honda, I patiently await progress.

Re: Honda S800 (Fujimi)

I found that learning to do a good shiney body was much more challenging than painting low vis airframes. But it's pretty satisfying when you get it, and building cars definitely helps your skills in building planes- especially with painting.

Re: Honda S800 (Fujimi)

update time. i spent some quality time w/ my son while building this kit ;D ;D ;D
he likes to watch while I work, he's specially interested now that I'm building a car he's a certified car lover. i was planning to paint all the "flat black" paints tonight but since it was running late already, we just dry fitted the parts. no major problems seen. although there are a lot of flashes on some of the under chasis parts. Even though my son is already sleeping, I can't paint the parts... promised him we'll paint them together tomorrow. so until then, enjoy some in-progress pics.

i forgot to mention that I stripped the chrome from the small parts and the engine. I initially used Coke but the time to strip all the chrome was taking a bit longer. So before I left for the office this morning, I switched to bleach. When I came home, all the chrome were gone . I didn't strip the chrome yet for the front and rear bumpers and also the headlight housing since I might be able to use them still... no alclad chrome available here yet, i don't want to stall the project while waiting for it to be available.
