Great update... everything looks superb. I like the way you are using different CF patterns to faithfully replicate this car. Keep it up.

Re: Tamiya 1/20 Ferrari 310B

Hi Everyone
I started the cam covers first cleaning up the etch parts from Perfect Part and forming them.

Next I drill out the rivets holes and test fitted a .09mm rivet made by Tameo have to say there perfect fit. Now for the outside ones the Tameo ones are a little big so I used my dermal to grind down some straight pins to .81mm.

Here is one side finished

On to the front suspension I put the carbon fiber on the lower front arm the one side looks to be carbon fiber in the reference photos the other steel so that’s the way I did it. I used MFH Kevlar and SMS 1024.

Also have the brake ducts cf on and applied clear to seal them.

Enjoy comments welcome

Dave,

ah, the 310B - that takes me back. Fabulous work and it looks very nice indeed, especially your C/F work. If I can help out with any references or anything just drop me a line.

Re: Tamiya 1/20 Ferrari 310B

Great work Dave. The use of different CF patterns and colours makes a big difference to realism. The brake ducts can be tricky and time-consuming but it looks like you nailed them!

I would hate to have to paint that red stripe on the cam cover, so that Perfect Parts piece must have been a relief

Re: Tamiya 1/20 Ferrari 310B

Looking good, and the CF work is coming along very nicely!
Are you planning on spraying a coat of "smoke" over the CF parts to tone down the weave/colour, or will you just leave it as is?

I am not sure yet the SMS decals do look better toned down a bit. I might put some CF on another piece as a test and compare the two side by side.
