NSX Mobil 1 - Tamiya 1/24

Some progress in my NSX Mobil 1. I have started this built ages ago... Now, I have decided not to start any new one till this one will be finished. I hope I keep my promise

Fuel filler and carbon/kevlar decals for the driver's seat, interior etc. I use AcuStion details set as well. At the very begining I wanted to heavily modify this model but in the end it is going to be "almost" OOB

Body primed and sanded. I use Tamiya putties and primers. Before final colour I have primed all of the body parts with white primer

Painting process begins...

Body primed white and waiting for TS-paint

Other parts - cleaned and primed. I keep them in the box usually ordered: painted/to be painted or by colour

Engine glued to the frame. Exhaust pipes were cut apart as the Tamiya molded them "glued" This has been done more for the fun then effect. At the bottom all will be covered with panel and difusor.

Wathering: first painted with gloss black (Tamiya TS) than Alclad "Pale burnt Metal" After that Jet Exhaust was sprayed. At the end I have use Tamiya weathering sets to give it final look.

I have washed engine very, very slightly with Tamiya Smoke (enamel)

Wheels: I have painted them using Tamiya Gun Metal (acrylic) than cleared with Gunze clear. Sakatsu air valves added

Decals were put with Gunze Setter/Softener fluids. All of the body will be cleared with automotive clear than finally detail painted

Dry fitting

Exhaust - alclad and tamiya weathering sets
Body- tamiya TS

Re: NSX Mobil 1 - Tamiya 1/24

You're off to a wonderful start. The exhaust looks great and I've always loved this livery. However, could you please add a text description to your pictures? We'd like to know what you're doing, with what, how, etc., so that we can learn from you and give you suggestions. Otherwise, looks great!!

Re: NSX Mobil 1 - Tamiya 1/24

This looks good and your work space is very cleaned up. I would never have the discipline going for these boxes...Question: Which tone of color did you use on the body? Is it the AS-20 Tamiya Insignia white or regular racing white?

Hiya Macho Macio

I am sure that:
a) this will be as good as all you builds; and
b) you won't keep your promise

3mam kciuki!

Re: NSX Mobil 1 - Tamiya 1/24

love it, especially your subtle weathering, just how I like it. The exhausts are top drawer too, I've not got this model however it is a really good looking machine.
