Re: Fun in the rain...VR4 vs GT

A car can hydroplane at speeds as low as 20mph if conditions are right, just imagine what would of happened if you'd hit a puddle of standing water at 145mph.

You probably wouldn't be here joking about it that's for sure.

Re: Fun in the rain...VR4 vs GT

For those of you concerned: Thanks for your concern, it's nice to know i'm cared about

For the others: Thanks for the kill congrats

To clarify a little, it wasn't pouring rain, there weren't puddles of water pooling on the highway, I don't go much above 65-70 in those conditions. It was drizzling and the pavement was wet from the previous rain. After I hit about 130 my wipers stopped working half stroke and I had to shut them off. The wind was my new wiper, windshield was bone dry Add that to just about new tires with AA traction in dry/wet and you have my confidence. Don't know what possesed the kid in the GT to do it with me, I wouldn't go that fast in anything RWD with anything but dry pavement...and he was switching lanes! I at least was just going straight.

Also for the record, i've hydroplaned doing 80 in this car on my old tires in moderate rain just switching lanes, scary, but a 3rd gear punch of the gas set me straight. New tires...no slippage so far
