Re: `95 firebird

not a big aftermarket for them. If i could go back in time and choose between the 3.4 and the 3.8, i would definitely pick up the 3.8L. also, the 3.8s last forever

Re: `95 firebird

well, ive had two. both around the same age; 120-140k-ish. first one the had to replace oil sending unit at about 130k. then it was wrecked. second one had to replace water pump, and belt tensioner...that about it aside from the usual maintenance. runs real good and strong. just not as fast as i would like. 3.8 has more potential for upgrades

The 3.4 is a great engine and not nearly as noisey as a 3.8.

When my dad was a mechanic he had a costumer who drove around the biggest money pit ever. My dad was constantly fixing it, but he liked it so much he told everyone (and he really thought this) that it was more reliable than his old truck, which all my dad ever had to do to was change the oil. What I am getting at is whatever you like best will be the most reliable.

well I don`t follow that kind of logic .I beleive in calling a dud a dud . What I am refering to now that the engine issue has been resolved is the general reliabilty of the car themselves . thanks for your input tho
