best way to paint 2-tone mercedes?

Hey guys,

My mother has this car in real life and I really want to make a model version for her.

However, I'm not so certain as to how to go about painting this car. Basically, I would like to paint it exactly like this colour.

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10001039

But how should i go about painting the bottom? as it is a 2 tone car...any of you gurus know what colour that should be as well? Thanks

Gary

The factory colors should be on the chassis plate under the hood, otherwise a Mercedes dealer should be able to help you with the correct colors through their touch up paint lines.

As for the two-tone, masking with Tamiya tape would be a start.

If you want to know the original Benz-colours, i would guess they are "040 Schwarz" and for bumpers and side skirts "7700 Altograu".

Yes you can go to the mercedes parts counter and get touch up paints, though they will likely be in the brush applicator, so you'll need to use it through your airbrush thinned with (likely) lacquer thinner, or ask them what kind of paint base it is and use the proper thinner for the paint.
