opinions on 96 Taurus GL? keep or sell?
hi all,
have a 96 ford taurus GL 3.0 V6, vin U. its done 128000, got it at 122000 mi. I have read a lot of -ve review abt taurus... I am wondering if these are true for the 96 GL. I havent had much problems except for some EGR dpfe sensor, and some brake work. Does not burn any oil, gives 20mpg in city. But as it gets old Iam wondering if I should sell it of?? pl post your opinions? Use valvoline max life engile oil. any specific care to be taken?? |

I have a 96 XL with 208,000 on it and yes there have been repairs, but like your own body, just take care of it and you should get more from your car. I must put in about a quart of oil maybe once a month and I have had the transmisson flushed and new filters put in, and there has been normal replacements of wearing out parts. All in all for 5 years, this has taken my family where it has needed to go. And I bought this from an auction with Budget Rentals under its belt, and a couple with a Reality business, and of course me. And like Ive said over and over "Its been with us for 5 years, I can't believe it!" And I do hope another 5. This Taurus just looks good to me and I try to keep it running forward, and as my son say's to me " Mom,where would any of us be without our vehicle's, so put a little time into them and money, to save on heavy repairs. He's right! And my Mother always reminds me of this "Nothing we make, will or can last forever, not even ourselves
but we have to try.
