1996 Ford Taurus GL tuning

What can be done to this car? Just wondering, in terms of improving performance. It's suppose to have a crappy ten seconds 0-60mph/0-100kmph... moo..

Any free mods by chance too? Please tell me

Unless you want to hand grenade the transmission and blow up the head gaskets, I suggest you drive real slow with your taurus.

207,000 still riding her 'agressively' and still keeping alive, very strong same way it was when we got her at about 100,000 She is fed with synthetic oil, both engine and transmission and other nifty stuff Still pulls heavy loads, etc.. etc.. Hmm, but heck I would like to make it a bit more better performance wise its just meh :/ Becomes boring very very boring. The engine revs strong (aka quite loud) and can actually glue you (well call it partial glue haha) to the seat, but its not something ud call strong or whatever... the engine is strong and should have potential but its 2valves/cyl and a family car :/ Not too long ago i think someone somewhere I read said theirs is 270,000 miles and it still works great lol... ah well.. I'd like it to be a bit stronger and stuff :/ So tell me what can be actually done to improve performance. Few days ago my father asked a mechanic as well and was told that not much (which I sorta already know to a certain degree not exactly a tuner fanatic car lol..... ), but supposingly the best performance gains would be from a computer upgrade :/ What's your take on all this. The Vulcan V6 is supposingly... nice... lol

My brother in law has a 1990 Taurus, and he had all kinds of head gasket and auto trans problems, befor 40,000 miles. But after that now the car is perfect, he actually autocrosses it.

as far as mods go for the vulcan, they have to be pretty general. my mods include,k&n air filter, boche platnum 4 plugs, accel 8mm plug wires, 50mm maf from a mustang, 19 pnd/hr fuell injecktors and advanced my timing 4 degrees.with those mods I can take the duritec by 2 car lengths at 100 k's.i figure without being modest, about 220-230 hp.I also just orded a supperchip from toronto.i'll let you know how that goes.oh ya, you can always do the old port and pollish trick.hope this helps you out a little bit.i also try to make it look pretty to.
