1/24 68 GTO finished

i'm hoping to get you some better images tonight. i wanted to get some lower shots because these look like every other picture of models from the same angle too. only one of my low shots turned out good enough for my taste but it was of the rear of the car. it was rainy and cloudy so the light wasn't great for a black car. the paint looks pretty good in these shots but there are swirls that i need to get out and my color sanding wasn't GREAT. anyway, pegasus wheels, dupli color black. more details in the WIP thread.

Paint looks nice. Did you use the acrylic enamel or the lacquer black?

This car is hot! I would imagine rolling down the streets with this one... Looks great in all black, and the rims are very good choice. I still miss the brakes behind the rims, and I'm asking if there is any taillights in the kit? It looks too empty from behind to me... And maybe a little chrome addition around the side window area would make it unbeatable! It's only my opinion...

thanks for the compliment, the pics make it out a lot better than it is. i used lacquer rattle cans and enamel clear, sealer for primer ... all dupli color. still looking for tips on fine tuning my paint because i got swirls i'd like to get rid of but i'd like to use automotive products because i don't have local access to model specific stuff.

EXACTLY where the hell are my tail lights?? they were part of the bumper and listen .. i'm a total noob at this and the details just aren't there. I'm working on it but i don't have the patience. thanks though. i shaved the drip rails so there's no place for chrome there. i like em slick and sleak, especially in black. i wanted to modify the entire rear bumper section but once again, it seemed like all these great ideas in my head and no GREAT way to execute them. I don't know how to rechrome either.

let's be honest ... i have no idea what BMF stands for. After doing this i think i should have gotten rid of them altogether. LOTS of mistakes and LOTS of learning .. this is my first "good" model so forgive me.

Lookin great.

BMF is Bare Metal Foil. You can use it to put it on metallic surfaces. You can buy them in different metallic colors.

BMF is an adhesive foil that allows you to chrome or re-chrome parts that need chrome. It is simple easy to use and goes on wonderfully.

I feel for you! Sometimes I just start building another kit before finishing the previous one. Just like many others of us... It's not that I loose interesting in it, it's just sooo many kits to build - and to own...

BMF, cool. thinking about it i've heard you guys talk about it before. so you say it goes on well? i always think the chrome looks really cheesy on these cars. Not every time, you know you open the kit and look at the chrome parts and they of course never took the time to knock down the imperfections before putting on the chrome .... wheels always have to be attached at the lip ... WHY?? do they like our wheels to be ruined when we take them off the whateveryoucallit? anyway, if it goes on good i'd like to pretty much rechrome every single part that IS chrome. but i don't want it to be worse .. my luck, it would be.

and for janositamas, the kit came with two clear lenses attached to the glass ... i have NO idea what they were for. only two and they were the wrong shape to fit a 68 GTO anywhere. Why don't ALL the models come with clear red lenses for tail lights and clear lenses for turn sigs and head lights? why mold them into the frickin bumper and make them chrome? how does that help me? doesn't. i guess the folks at revel need to ask you guys how they should do these cars before they produce them. that would probably kick ass. anyway, i'm sure these frustrations are very old news so i'll shut up. thanks for the comments everyone.
