Need advice - 95 Firebird

I have a 95 Firebird - needs a fuel pump replaced - shop is quoting about $700 for the job. Wondering if it's worth it....

Car has 3 year old engine (3.4 litre), 1 year old AC, new water pump and tune up. Body's in great condition, no problems with drive train, interior's good, premium sound package, tilt wheel, cruise control, RW drive, power steering/brakes, etc....

Problems are wipers want to stick in the up position when turned off, window motors are inoperable, needs rear brakes....and, of course, that peskly fuel pump.

Is this thing worth fixing and selling, or would it be best to just call the junk yard????

do you have any means of doign the pump yourself? would save you a huge amount of money. It's kinda hard but it is straightforward.

It is very hard to get the fuel tank off, I know this by experience
Around 700 bucks it is reasonable if you take it somewhere else to get it down because it is time consuming, but overall is worth it.

Re: Need advice - 95 Firebird

If the engine is only 3 years old it doesnt sound worth junking it, 700 seems about right for the fuel pump thats about how much it cost for me back when I had my '87

Good thing about f-bodies is you can always find someone to buy them no matter what condition they are in.... like me.

How much you want for it as is?

Your in orlando right? I'm right near there.
