Fujimi GX71 Toyota Cresta 2.0GT Twin Turbo

Hi all, I've put aside my Estima project to work on this model from Fujimi's High Mechanism series. It's a GX71 Toyota Cresta which I'm building to replicate my 1:1 Toyota Cressida 5-speed. I'm showing my 1:1 at a car show next month so I want to have the 1:24 version sitting on the dash The High Mechanism series includes a complete engine and suspension detail as well as a more realistic undercarriage. I'm using Volk Racing Artisan Spirit aero disks that were included with another kit as they're a close match to the Racing Harts I have on my 1:1. I've already painted the wheels and body in Tamiya TS30 to match my car (still need to clearcoat). Other detail will be a Sakatsu shift lever, which means I will be converting the model to be 5-speed. The only thing is, the model didn't come with pedals so I guess I won't have to worry about a clutch In the background is my Fujimi Tohge series GX71 Chaser, which I'm painting with bosozoku scheme and has Aoshima's SSR Starsharks with stretched tires and custom rear camber (bent rear axle hehe)

My 1:1

nice, i love old school cars. i have a 1:1 old school as well. i have a fujimi toyota chaser mark II that needs work and it looks similar to your cressida, and it has heroes racing disks, similar to your volk racing artisans. i'll be looking forward to this build. ;D

hey thanks. i don't have any recent pics of the exterior but here's a pic of my interior. my model will also have a grey interior and i'll likely use a steering wheel from aoshima's drift parts set for my steering wheel.

love old schools! the kit is coming along nicely. and also loving your 1:1, it looks sick! btw... do you know if any of the company made that cressida in kit form? is it the cresta, chaser or the mark? i have been looking for that exact body style for a long time now.

thanks!! for cressida, the closest match would be the mark II sedan. unfortunately that i know of there are no kits of the sedan, only hardtop, which is why i went with a cresta kit for my replica. the front grill, side molding and rear quarter window are similar. mark II hardtop front end has more of a slanted look and the chaser is a decent match as well except the side molding is lower and the grills are different. interior is similar to cressida except for being RHD.

ah... that's why it's hard finding one. thank you for that feedback. thinking of scratching one from combining two kits.... hmmm

waiting to see your project done. can't get enough of those rims and the insane camber. goodluck with the build.
