Re: Who has the most miles
114,000 miles on my 1995.
Car has never stopped or stalled. Useful Tune-up (NGK irridiums+borg-warner wires+2coils) = $500 Amount I spent on dealer GM-garbage parts/plugs/wires before I learned not to = $600 Catalytic Converter = $180 Tire/wheel package = $820 Brake mastercylinder installed = $120 Tranny fluid changed twice = $160 Broken Oil pan changed = $600 (Block of wood on the road hit it) Total Maintenance cost in 8 years = $2980 Cost per year = $360 Not bad. Oh, engine and trans work fine at 114000 miles. |

Re: Who has the most miles
Update 135K
New Trans not rebuilt, brand new in the crate straight from Detroit with 69 updates. (Don't ask me what they are, but this trans is for real.) New CVC boots Several electricial items including signal cruise, wiper items. New electrical thingy doodle to cure light flickering problem new wires and plugs two water pumps Oil pan dropped resealed with lock tight to stop oil leak (without removing motor) 4 sets of front brake pads, one set of rotors (front, Atlanta had rather stop and go or get killed than build roads) all new hoses Two intake and throttle body cleans Fuel pump and sending unit Antenna reweld trunk bracket (shock freeze, broke bracket clean off trying to shut trunk) One supentine belt One water pump belt Fuel pressure regulator Window power switch on drivers door Totally happy with car, drives like a caddy and is driven daily for the last 7 years. No plans to sell or trade. Would love to have the car repainted, no flakes or fades (knock on wood) opcorn:

Re: Who has the most miles
I picked up a 1998 model from the second owner back in July 2006 for $1K dollars (he was happy to get rid of it - too much $$$ to maintain). This was a $38K + car new. It had 123K when I got it & now has 134K. The second owner picked it up with 20K miles on it from a dealer back in 2001. All I've done is put two tires on it & repair a fuel rail leak. Has the typical oil leak & a can of leak fix every oil change keeps the drips at a minimum. The second owner replaced the ac compressor, power seat motor, window motor, computer, ignition module, coil packs, radiator, alternator, belts, hoses, tune up, brakes & a transmission flush. All the repairs were made at a local shop. The dollar amount in repairs/maintenance receipts I received from the owner comes to around $5K +. Planning on driving it as a work car until the wheels fall off.

Re: Who has the most miles
2001 3.0L V6. I bought it w/ 24K mi. (used) in Oct. 2001. It now has 155K on it. I have 3 other cars, all with more miles, incl a Camry with 330K. Biggest thing I've had to replace is the transmission - died at ~100K and cost me ~$3000. Although I love how the car handles, its responsiveness and road feel, it has been in the shop more than all of the other cars put together. Water pump, A/C, heater, dual climate contl, window switches, brakes (many times), leaky trunk, oil leaks, would-not-start problems (several times, turned out to be the Pwr Cntl Module), fuel level sensors (it's in the shop today for the 2nd of these to go out and they tell me it's $600 to fix it). I also have a evap system leak (check gas cap indicator) that the shop can't find w/o shotgunning the replacement of everything, an occasional dimming of the headlights that the dealer tells me is "normal" but quite distracting at night, and a transmission that occasionally jerks while shifting (a speed sensor that's not working right - the same thing that was happening when the transmission went out at 100K mi).

Re: Who has the most miles
2001 3.5L purchased in 2004 with 79,000 miles on it now has 167,000 on it and going strong. Has an oil leak (supposedly from oil sender unit that has been replaced twice) but other wise very happy. I drive it hard 500 plus miles a week and consider it the sharpest car on the road today. Issues I've had:
P0410 - current replaced SEC AIR MOTOR working on drive cycles to reset Front Rack - $400 R Front wheel berrings..warranty Trunk leaks occassionally...( think I spotted it on the rear strut mounts) TPS- $39 Pax Side Climate Control Acutator...$170 GM tech just put it on his scanner for me and said "runs great...these were awesome cars" Happy in Buffalo! |
