The crx concept looks horrible. Honda done fucked up the civic when they changed it in 2001. You cant soup it up, and if you do there is virtually no HP gain. That is why everybody is buying focus's and neons. What would be cool is if toyota back the corolla hatch, or the trecel to fill the gap.

Also Nissan needs to bring out a Coupe or Hatch version of the SE-R because that would be tight

alright...couple things wrong here. First off honda is not gonna make a car that resembles a smoothed out 2nd gen CRX, its gonna have a few twist in the design they are not gonna keep it looking like if the car would have not progressed into the del sol but it will stay a hatch none the less. If they made it looks sorta like our cars sure people would buy them but I don't think the car is old enough to be pulled off with that retro styling crap, I like EF9JDM's pic alot I don't see what so bad about it, that white pic leaves some to be desired but I think with work it could be something i've very much want a peice of.

second, honda did what they had to do with the civic. The civic will always be a passenger car no some detuned race car. Double wish bone is gone...most people don't even know the adavantages/disadvatages of the double wishbone system anyways yet they claim the wishbone superior. Sure I love mine but i've drivin mc pherson strut cars that could easily outhandle mine. An no power to be gained??? Man i hope that was a joke. Maybe in the new 1.7 SOHC vtec in the EX's I could MAYBE see but i heard they seem to enjoy mods as much as our little 1.6's do. Keep in mind how heavy the civic has become even a good motor can be put down by sheer weight. As for the K20 motor...mod for mod it will smack down most B-series motors with the same bolt-ons they are just starting to prove this. The K motors are AWESOME little motors and it will replace the B motors just fine I think in time.

As for people goin out and buyin other makes, shit have a little faith. Hell lately most of their cars have been along the same lines as the civic as far basic performance (sportier models set aside). Besides if riceboys wanna buy something other than civics...good...i'm not gonna stop them. Not rippin on you just tellin it like it is.

I actually havent researched the mods. But here in california, the smog shit is so strigent that a lot of people who have modded their 2001+ civics have failed. Because the new civic falls into the SULEV class, and it is barely there stock. So the minute you do anything to it, it fails. I understand that the crx wont look like a smoothed out 2nd gen, but I hated that pic. I did however like the photoshopped one that ci5ic did of the SI hatch. If I were to get another civic I would try to get a 2000, but there is no way I would buy a focus or neon, because they are wannabe domestic import cars. The 2001+ civics are starting to be fast though, but it has taken them a while to get there. Once I see them with more than altezzas and intake, I might consider one.

Then again, I may just keep my car for commuting and buy a tacoma so I can go wheelin, and have an easier time loading my mountain bike into / onto it.

Official according to who?

Magazines publish concept pics all the time. Most of them never make it to production.

You're correct about the focus, they were designed by ford europe and as such they're a wannabe domestic, right?

As for the neon it is a domestic car, nothing import about them. Chrysler has been doing small 4cyl performance cars since the mid 80s like my '86 shelby charger. To me neon just *feels* more like a minimopar, rather than a copy of some soulless import car. I'll bet even the upcoming SRT-4 feels more like a Shadow ES than a Mitsubishi Eclipse.
