Re: F1 for sale

Unfortunately that's a very old ad that simply has never been removed from that website. I wish they would because I see it getting attention on various message forums fairly regularly.

The car in question was sold several years ago to a UK specialty dealer, then sold again shortly thereafter, ending up in Melbourne, Australia at Maranello Motorsport. Before heading to Australia though, it went back to the McLaren factory for a refit by the McLaren Customer Care group where it was painted Papaya Orange and had it's interior reupholstered to appear more like an F1 LM inside and out. It didn't spend much time in Australia before being sold once more to our very own forum participant, Mr Bridger, who resides in the UK.

Here's the original thread when someone first discovered this car would be for sale - started 6/22/2003:

McLaren F1 GTR Chassis Number 016R For Sale

Here are some other past threads that reference the ReadyToFix ad:

Is this fake????

16 for sale

Finally here's the latest thread on GTR #16R which was started to discuss its appearance on 5th Gear. You'll find tons of present day photos of the car in this thread, plus great commentary direct from the car's current owner.

Now this should be exciting - McLaren versus Enzo on 5th Gear...

Thanks for attempting to provide us with some news. Feel free to join in on the latest thread if you have some comments.
