Race for pinks, get yourself a reliable grocery getter. There is no factory turbo option that I'm aware of. 14psi and gutted precats and you'll still beat plenty of turbod civics, so I wouldn't worry too much.

no civic is factory TC'd, the whole VTEC thing is their kicker. the closest factory turbo that has come from honda/acura is the new RDX, which is an SUV. people like to think their si's are fast because its a 160hp dohc vtec (the 99's were, i dont know about the hatchbacks...200?) that redlines at 8200. that's a lot of gear to wind through, giving an illusion of speed. no contest, get him to race and make him pay for the gas you wasted embarrassing him.

The new SI's come with 197HP. Still slow compared to the Verfer. Its about a high 14s car.

Yeah i've only seen low 15's.
Anyways I found out the kid doesn't actually have the kit ready to go, hes "saving up" for it rofl. He says its gonna cost him $6k (bwahhaahahah..retard). I looked it up and the only turbo kit available for the new si's is made by greddy (its a T517Z turbo, whatever that means) and goes for about $3.5k on eBay and only adds 52hp according to GReddy.

6k for 52 horses??? thats just retarded. you could do a full motor swap for that much. or get some nice internals. If he has that much to play with, why in the hell didnt he get something better than a Civic in the first place???
might as well beef up the internals and get a big freaking shot of nitrous....youd get way more power for the money |
