Re: I need some Help!!

Hi Neojune,

I to used to be a professional model maker far an international appliance manufacturer and am building a 1/5th GTR since my full size model was scuppered. The only advice I can give you is get as many hi res pictures you can and try to befreind an actual owner of an F1.

Re: I need some Help!!

yeah, ggod luck, i too am building a model, and it is really not easy. I have no real car to work from as there are no Mclarens in South africa that i know of. i have just pictures to work from. measurements are the hardest as you can not take reliable measurements from a picture. further more there are some areas of the car that i have no details of at all.

So if anyone has some really good shots of engine bays, under carraige, exposed radiators, wheel wells, interior (behind the heads), under the dash board (looking up, not at the foot pedals) etc, please your pics will well appreciated.

Chassis #037 is there - in fact it was spotted on the road recently according to someone I know over there.

Photos of the car in S.A. can be seen here:

Re: I need some Help!!

Do you know where it was spotted and who owns the car. the only real f1 i ever saw was in the showroom in london as i drove past in 96.

it was a silver one and was there on 9th sept 96. who can verify what chassis was standing on the showrrom floor that day ?

Re: I need some Help!!

The car was spotted in Johannesburg. Unless it has changed hands, it is owned by Peter Manelis.

If I had to guess, the silver F1 on the showroom floor in 1996 was more than likely chassis #042. No proof of that though - just some circumstantial evidence.
