#037 - not lost forever - Kyalami Supercar Day 2005

I was worried that when #037 left the USA and went to South Africa that we wouldn't see it again. Through the magic of the internet and a silent partner here named McLaren240! I bring you a photo and video of the car in South Africa.

Click the photo to read more about the event.

Here's a link to the video - I put it on RapidShare so it wouldn't rob bandwidth from the site it's hosted on.

The video's creator says that this is a bi-yearly event and that there will be another one this weekend. He promises to take tons of photos and video - now we just need to hope that the F1 shows up again.

Thanks a bunch for posting the pics, good to keep up on this one. You wouldn't think it's in South Africa - bi-yearly exotic car events, arizona plates and all the people there look very american or european.

One question - those first two photos in your second post, is it possible to get those in high res!? The first one is at an incredible angle and the second one just looks gorgeous, I don't know why. This sensational modern supercar in the middle of a run-down villa, it's a stunning sight.

You're not really asking me to sign up for the forum I found them on just to beg for hi-res pics, are you?

Ok, ok... actually, there were one or two other threads that I saw there where I could offer up some contributions. I'll do it tomorrow.

No promises though, becuase the guy who posted them said that his friend had taken them. You know how that goes...

Great pics Peloton! I wonder why that guy kept the AZ license plate on his car. Maybe temporarily registered?

Guess you've never been to SA. I went there in the summer of 2000 and there were a lot of white people. It was settled by the British a long time ago so everyone who lives there has that English accent. There were a lot of nice cars there when I went. Saw the new M5s (at the time), Mercedes SL600s, a Dino Ferrari 246, even a 360 Spider! The 360 Spider was at the Ferrari dealership though and just for promotion of the new car, not for sale.
