Get rid of AdAware. Not only does it spy on you, but I heard they take payola to ignore certain spyware. A McAfee scan finds it as an undesired program and prompts you to remove it.

Do you have any proof of this?

Ofcourse McAfee is going to flag it, they want you to use THEIR software instead.

You should not have to disable Spybot. Adaware does not have real time scanning or blocking, so don't worry about that. Microsoft's spyware program should be fine as it is, no need to try and disable.

I would suggest you remove either AVG or Norton, but keep one of them. Then disable the one you keep temporarily and install IE7 if that's what you want.
Actually, Norton is a "remnant" from when I had it on my computer pre -installed from Dell when I bought it back in 2002. I only bought a newer version one more time, Norton 2004, and that is what is on my computer now. I haven't updated it or done anything with it since it expired. I should probably remove that program, since I don't run it anymore. One thing I noticed about Microsoft's anti spyware program, I don't know how to run a scan or even update it anymore since Microsoft installed a newer version earlier this year. I don't know if it automatically updates it for me, as I think I had to do it after being prompted with the old version. When this new version was installed , it seemed to have removed all traces of the old version from my computer, even removing the shortcut to that program on my desktop, which I used to use regularly to run a scan. I can't find it on my computer now, so I know I wouldn't be able to temporarily disable it. I keep all my other anti virus/spyware programs updated regularly and run scans on a regular basis. I haven't had a problem on my computer related to a virus or spyware in the 4 1/2 I've owned it. The only small problem I have is an annoying page ( or pop up type window) that will appear sometimes from something called "oinadserver or Outerinfo. It disrupts whatever I'm doing at the moment, and when the page appears, I exit out of it. Most of the time the page or window is blank, but on a few occasions an ad may appear. I do have a pop up blocker but for some reason these ads seems to bypass it. Does anybody have an idea of how to rid myself of these annoying occurences?
