Where To Kick It In Cali?

For those that spend alot of time up North and down South also, which do you guys prefer? Would you rather kick it in the bay area or the LA/San Diego area. I can't make up my mind.

Tough call. San Francisco is an awesome city. There's just so much to do.

You can't beat San Diego's weather though.

In my opinion, San Diego's the better place to live... San Francisco's the better place to visit. Mostly because you can forget about doing any kind of serious driving in SF, and even having a car is a major pain in the ass there.

Also SD is nice because the desert, the mountains, the ocean, Los Angeles, Mexico, almost any type of place you'd want to go, is pretty much within a 4 hour drive.

That's exactly how I would have said it.
San Fransisco is a cool city, but outside of Frisco, you really don't have any options of anything more to do. But down in SD, you have everything within a reasonable reach.
If you like the cold every morning with the fog and all, then Frisco is for you, but SD totally has better weather.

If I had to choose, I'd choose San Diego.

I would choose San Diego. For one reason and I can't believe no one has mentioned it yet. Tijuana

Tijuana's cool when you're in high school or college, but after that it's pretty lame. When I go to Mexico, I prefer to go down Baja. Much cleaner and nicer down there.

There's nothing to see up north past San Francisco unless you like Redwood trees and other similar and very boring tourist traps

Yeah, I love San Francisco. We always do the same thing though. Go to Union Square first and then take the cable car over to Pier 39. But they got The Cheesecake Factory at the top of Macy's now in Union Square...Yummmm Yummm

Yeah the bread is good. And that chocolate/ice cream place at Ghiradelli Square is soooooooooo good. I wanted to go when I was home in March, but I didn't get around to it. Oh well. Just wait until August and then I can go all I want.

OMG, that's like my fav!!! That's what I was actually eating the night the fire broke out at the old Cannery building when I was up there. I went out and got one from one of the sidewalk seafood stand things at like 11 at night, went back to my hotel room, andsaw all the commotion and went outside to see what it was, mad crazyness! But the chowder in a bowl is to die for! I love it! I have a soft spot for good clam chowder. They also have excellent chowder up in Seattle at this place called "Steamers" over on Pier 54 I think it is over there.

Give me a bread bowl of clam chowder and a giant plate of shrimp and I'll do anything.
