nice MPG.

from that guys website, i assume the power stick is part of your exhaust?

CAS from a 91! that's an incredibly AWESOME idea! correct me if i'm wrong, but that will only allow you to control the base timing. i assume you advanced it a few degrees, since you're hell-bent on preventing knock with the ICs and alky injection.

how much degree of timing will a 91-92 CAS allow? at the crank. you could also add Fidanza adjustable cam gears to give you +/- 12 degrees of timing to play with.

About the tranny, im not worried about it going, im just accepting the fact that when it goes I will completly upgrade it. AWD 5 speed is nice, but they are spendy and Id rather upgrade the hell outta my fwd 5 speed.

Jomojr, did you have any problems with running really rich, and needing a fpr?

Your talking 2 different types of timing here. CAS adjust ignition timing, the cam gears adjust valve timing.

thanks for clarifying.

but in the grand scheme of things, i'm sure ignition timing somehow relates to valve timing? right?

i'd have to think about, but i don't wanna think right now. here's what i just pulled out of my ars: assume valve timing is set to stock specs (not sure what degree stock specs are, let just call the valve timing zero'ed out), ignition timing (CAS) is adjustable only on 91-92 models. ignition timing can be advanced/retarded over what range? i wanna say +/- 10 degrees, but i can't remember correctly.

now the ECU (a TT ECU, that is) has timing control, and can advance/retard timing as it sees fit (based on what? i dunno, i'm no computer).

and the valve timing can be changed 2 ways: get adj. cam gears OR get different camshafts (regrinds or entirely newly cast).

i just deleted what i had written after reading again about camshafts http://auto.howstuffworks.com/camshaft.htm. curious, cool, interesting things, those camshafts.

i wonder if we could slap the MIVEC system onto the 6G72 block? i bet we'd have to swap the ECU's, then again i don't think the MIVEC came on any 3.0L engines, so swapping ECU wouldn't work. we'd need to reverse engineer the ECU (have fun with that!), then reprogram the MIVEC compatible ECU to work on the 6g72 3.0 L.

*drools*

just think of the gains for the NA 3S if we could swap the MIVEC system over!

Well they are both on an engine, other than that, no, one does not effect the other.
