No! It will lock you out of first gear making it almost impossible to spin the tires with a 3.8, even on a wet surface.

Check the door jamb for your rpo codes. There should be one that starts with "GU" and have a number after that. Post up what it is and it'll tell what rear end you have, when I had 3.08's it was all I could do to spin my tires, now that I have 3.42's it has become much easier.
