I don't like how they can't seem to get the wheels to scale, or the right offset. they look like bicycle wheels if you asked me.I haven't bought an AMT kit in several years, I even turned a few freebies down because I think they are a waste of time and money.

Your right about the wheels, but look, you pay a kit 10$, you get what you pay for. Fujimi kits are 40$ and they are not great. In fact, I build the fujimi RX8 and the AMT 300C lately, and the 300C is a better kit in my opinion. I put some Aoshima wheels on it and the kit looks great!

Re: pics of AMT's upcoming F&F3 kits.

I agree with patoffspyder, some AMT kits are lacking, but there are some that are amazing. especially alot of there kits from the early 90's. like the Monte Carlo and the Mustang pictured above, both are amazingly nice kits. I just wish that AMT would'nt have made them look bad with those hideous looking rims. They may require more work then the typical Fujimi kit. but in the end it might be more enjoyable looking at a finished you put hours and hours into , compared to a model that builds perfectly out of the box in a few days that only requires painting skills.

another thing to remember, alot of AMT's toolings are really old. like the 40 Ford and 49 Ford. both date back to 1960. after 46 years of almost constant reissuing have taken its toll on the tooling of those kits, they are still very popular and and with some work they still build up very nicely.

Re: pics of AMT's upcoming F&F3 kits.

Now y'all know that the Veilside Supra features a new body shell, right?

Can't remember if the rocker panel pieces were molded to the first Supra body shell, but they're separate this time; and the hardtop is integrated to the body, without a removable panel.

You have two different versions of the veilside front fascia to choose from, and the new hood does indeed correct the first kit's most glaring error, the misshapen headlight lenses.

Most of the rest carries over, including the stock-looking chromed twin-turbo setup and the problematic front suspension. But all told, the updates seem worthwhile.

Re: pics of AMT's upcoming F&F3 kits.

As far as I see on that Mustang kit, AMT uses the same wheels as the Boyd Coddington's Mustang kit, which is too thin and doesn't look any good on that kind of car.

Re: pics of AMT's upcoming F&F3 kits.

I just bought the monte carlo and mustang, im pleased with both besides a few minor things. Both don't have any mold lines which is great. The RB is ok, like previously stated the wheels suck. Both come with a set of stock wheels, so hopefully that might be helpful for the monte carlos true wheels. If I ever can find my camera Id be glad to snap a few pictures for you guys.

Re: pics of AMT's upcoming F&F3 kits.

1st off, I appologize for being lame, and having no pics.
ibttiywop

Got the Veilside Fairlady kit today.

It can only be built as the body kitted version. -1
Has an engine +1
Has a stock looking plastic engine cover....with an intake with a turbo on the end that connects to..guess where!!!...nowhere With a cone filter on the end of that.

Huge..like...makes fujimi wheels look like 12 inchers..wheels. But wide..alot wider than the mustangs.

Racing like seats, 2 speakers, speaker integrated into the rear strutt bar(does look neat) RHD only dash.

This can be built up about 80% accurate to the Veilside car.
About 75% of the movie car(?I don't know, I only saw the movie once. Seems somewhat dooable.)

Pics coming if I can get a camera off of friends?
