Thumbs up A better option

You can expect about 5 to 7 hp from the pop charger, but you would be much better off going with a cai - cold air intake, a system like Cattman Performance sells ..It actually puts your filter in the fender and lets the engine breethe fresh ,colder , denser air from outside of the vehicle. and that = more hp .. now you car will suffer just a tad at the top end but the overall gain is awsome and the fact that you loose a little at the top end can easily be overlooked

I have the JWT...pretty good gains around 3k rpms...I lost low end though. With an automatic it makes starting off the line slow but picks up at 3krpms...oh and when you first get the intake installed (CAI or JWT) make sure you roll your window down so you can get the full effect of your new roaring maxima.

I was told that a CAI isn't needed if you have an intercooler, is this true?

I think your confused...

An intercooler is only used in boosted applications, ie turbo charger or super charger, usually the first. The CAI would not be usable in either of these cases, unless it was a custom made one. Hope this helps.
