Sorry to derail this informative thread but this really struck as as funny and so true. Because that Is what I did after making a hide out in my front yard and staying out all night watching.

One group of ten kids worked their way up the street about 1:30. About 2:40 a different group did the same. A third were girls, all were 12-17 yrs old. Every car was checked for unlocked, every gate, mailbox, garage door also. Tagging as they went. They owned the night, like roaches, taking what they needed or could, giving payback to neighbors who were cop callers. Gun fire about 3:30 and I think the two groups met a street over.

I watched this neighborhood go from great to crap in five years. Yet the property tripled in value. I was out a month later, and moved thirty miles away. More land, bigger house, 46x26 shop, dirt roads, no street lights, NO NOISE, no boom box thumper cars thumping so hard the plastic trim is popping off, and,,, get this,, I made money.

It all started because my car was vandalized one night. one of the best things thats ever happened to me.
