What is their "reasoning" for not doing anything?

Re: The Countdown's Started

hey man..just from my own experience... the only advice i can give you is. if you're not working on your maro yourself, you absolutely have to STAY ON these mechanics. i dont care how big of a name the company is, dealership, aaa, midas, or some local place...doesnt matter. you have to stay on them constantly, let them know you're not a pushover and that you're watching your car and whats done to it. if not these mechanics man, they'll fuck something up or try and rob you. but don't just assume that everythings okay and that it has to be in there for such a long time. i know thats kind of vague but chances are they charge by the day and they're running a hell of a bill on you.
mechanics get pretty annoyed after you call them a couple times..and understandably so, it's not always a 20minute job, but who cares, do it anyway.

Re: The Countdown's Started

The last time mom took her car to the mechanics we told them that we wanted them to decide what needs fixed and call us and let us know and the prices before they fix them, that way we could keep on top of costs and what is actually done.

Re: The Countdown's Started

arent most or all places supposed to do that anyway? i dont think ive ever had my car somewhere where theyve done something without asking me if they could do it first. and of course i always ask the price if they dont tell me right away.

Re: The Countdown's Started

Around here the mechanics will do anything to rip you off. I didn't have time to change the oil one day so I took it to one of those quick change places where it's supposed to be $30 to have the oil changed. They came back about 20 minutes later and charged me nearly $100. They "topped off" stuff that didn't need it and all kinds of crap without me knowing or approving. Now we tell all mechanics before hand and stay on them to make sure what we need is getting done.

That sucks, well I've decided, I'm not using this thread for one more day, I'm not saying anything else because, They were doing all of the work behind my back and didn't tell me anything. How do I know this? Long story short, My mom found out for me. sister's road test, next to M+D, don't ask why. It's getting finished today. And that is it, 'thread end game'.
